Cristiano Mangovo, a graduate in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Kinshasa, is an artist whose practice spans techniques ranging from Impressionism to Surrealism. His work focuses on painting and installation, constantly experimenting with new methods and materials. Through these approaches—particularly Surrealism—Mangovo has developed a distinct artistic language, making his style unmistakable within the contemporary African art scene.

His work addresses critical themes from both African and global contexts, including environmental protection, women’s rights, and the impact of consumerism in contemporary neoliberal society.

Mangovo’s work has been exhibited at Expo Milan (Italy), at Hangar – Centro de Investigação Artística (Lisbon), and has been featured in major international fairs such as the 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair Paris (2021).
